I will be the first to admit how difficult it can be to ask for help when we need it. I have needlessly struggled alone in situations that could have been ameliorated by a helping hand – if only I had let my need be known. But this reluctance to ask for help stems from a pressure to “not show weakness” or a need to “always be strong” when in reality we were never meant to be able to do every little thing by ourselves. We all are a collective of souls here on this Earth to learn and grow and to help others learn and grow. We each came to develop our unique skills and talents in order to be of service to the collective, to each other – whether that be to inspire and uplift people with our art or our words, or to offer our time, energy, knowledge, or other resource to those who need it. There is no shame in needing help. Not even Mother Earth would be able to sustain life alone if it were not for the help of Father Sun.
So let us release our pride and make our needs known so that we can receive the help that we require. And let us extend a helping hand whenever we can to those that we see struggling on their own. In this way, we can help alleviate some of the suffering that we or others often needlessly experience.
